Most of my ideas come from a fascination with evolutionary biology, regional folklore, and turning points in history—as well as my own personal adventures and observations. Although my daily bread comes from copywriting and the odd article, I like to indulge in literary delusions of grandeur by writing speculative short fiction and thriller novels.

I identify as an old-school writer, but my “real jobs” have included stints as a bartender, a teacher, a journalist, an agency copywriter and a government communications officer.

I am currently based in the Canadian port city of Halifax, Nova Scotia. If you can’t reach me, I’m probably fishing.
